Amber Thatcher

Amber is a vibrant teacher and is fantastic getting students into playing clarinet, saxophone, and flute. She can teach beginners and up to advanced level students. Amber teaches the AMEB syllabus as well as the TCL syllabus if students wish to pursue examinations. Amber has extensive knowledge on clarinet technique and repertoire so can pick what works best for each student.
Luke Thatcher
Drums / Percussion
Luke Thatcher is a dynamic drummer, percussionist, and educator. Hailing from the United States, Luke holds a Master's degree in Music Performance from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts from Rollins College. His early career was marked by performances at Disney World, for Princess and Norwegian Cruise Lines, as well as various venues on the Las Vegas Strip.

Since relocating to Australia in 2012, Luke has emerged as a central figure in the percussion community. He imparts his expertise through clinics and lessons at prestigious institutions, nurturing the next generation of musicians. As the founder and musical director of the Dynasty Drumline and Dynasty Showband, Luke is instrumental in promoting marching band culture in Australia.

Luke's extensive touring across Australia has seen him perform alongside notable artists such as The Australian Tenors, Marina Prior, Mark Vincent, Mirusia, and Ian Cooper. His talent has also been showcased on television with appearances on The Voice Australia, The Living Room, and The Great Australian Spelling Bee. Luke has also played for acclaimed musicals. He was the drummer/percussionist for the recent production of 'Beauty and the Beast' at The Capitol Theatre as well as the deputy percussionist for 'Hamilton' at The Lyric Theatre.

As a writer, Luke has been published in Rhythm! Scene magazine and has also written a method book on snare drum technique called 'The Definitive Drum Drill'. Luke is endorsed by Dynasty Drums and Innovative Percussion and is thankful for their support with his diverse musical pursuits.

Luke's artistry resonates with audiences and students alike. Whether teaching at St. Joseph's College and St. Ignatius Riverview, or touring internationally, his passion for percussion is undeniable and infectious.
